Nasi Lemak

Nasi lemak consists of fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf. Serve with a hot spicy sauce, fresh cucumber slices, small fried anchovies, roasted peanuts and hard-boiled egg.

Mee Bandung

A cusine that is originally cooked with yellow noodles coupled with prawn and egg in addition to a thick broth-gravy made of a combination of dried shrimps, onion, spices, shrimp paste and chilies.

Nasi Dagang

Nasi dagang is a dish consisting of rice steamed in coconut milk, fish curry and extra ingredients such as pickled cucumber and carrots.

Nasi Kerabu

A type of rice which is blue in color with dried fish, grilled beef, crackers, pickles and other salads.

Asam Pedas

A sour stew of fish, tamarind, chilli, tomatoes, okra and vietnamese coriander.

Keropok Lekor

A savoury cake made from a combination of batter and shredded fish. Sliced and fried just before serving and it is eaten with a special hot sauce.

Hainanese Chicken Rice

A dish of poached chicken and seasoned rice, served with chilli sauce and cucumber granishes.

Hokkien Noodles

A noodle soup with yellow rice noodles immersed in a spicy stock made of from prawns and chicken, garnished with a boiled egg, poached prawns, chopped kangkung and a dollop of sambal.

Char Kway Teow

A flat rice noodles stir-fried over very high heat with garlic, light and dark soy sauce, chilli paste, whole prawns, shelled blood cockles, chopped chinese chives, slices of chinese sausage and bean sprouts.

Pan Noodles

A handmade noodles served in fish stock type of soup served some meat and fish, dried anchovies, vegetables and various spices.

Wanton Noodles

A dish consists of egg noodles served in a hot broth, garnished with leafy vegetables and wonton dumplings.

Cheung Fun

A steamed rice roll made from a wide strip of rice noodles, filled with shrimp, beef and vegetables. Seasoned soy sauce is poured over the dish upon serving.

Biryani

A flavoured rice dish cooked or served with mutton, chicken, vegetable or fish curry.

Fish Head Curry

The head of a red snapper is stewed in a curry consisting of varying amounts of coconut milk and tamarind juice with vegetables. with assorted vegetables such as okra and eggplants, served with white rice.

Banana Leaf Rice

White rice is served on a banana leaf with an assortment of vegetables, curried meat or fish, pickles or papadum.

Naan

A leavened, oven-baked flatbread. It is usually eaten with an array of sauces such as chutney and curries such as dhal curry. A variety of Naan bread include Garlic Naan, Butter Naan, Garlic Butter Naan, Cheese Naan and Garlic Cheese Naan.

Chapati

A type of North Indian style flatbread. It is made from a dough of atta flour (whole grain durum wheat), water and salt by rolling the dough out into discs of approximately twelve centimetres in diameter and browning the discs on both sides on a very hot, dry tava or frying pan with no oil. Chapatis are usually eaten with vegetable curry dishes, and pieces of the chapati are used to wrap around and pick up each bite of the cooked dish.

Achar

Known as Indian pickles, achar are made from certain individual varieties of vegetables and fruits that are chopped into small pieces and cooked in edible oils like sesame oil or brine with many different spices.
